Our client provides fabrication and construction services to high-volume production homebuilders. They offer turnkey construction services, including the creation and delivery of customized materials package, fabrication of trusses and millwork and assembly and installation on the job site.
The manager of this group was recently promoted from another division of the company and wanted to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the six members of the management team he had inherited. Some of the team members had joined the company through acquisitions and others had been promoted from other functional departments.
Solution: EC Associates, Inc. developed an intuitive job template with the manager to set ranges and order of importance for all 33 behaviors. The ten competencies provided by the Devine Inventory System were also prioritized and factored into the initial benchmark consultation. We then provided Self DevelopBest reports for the team members and CoachBest reports for the group manager. By providing detailed feedback to the team members, they gained an understanding of their behaviors and were able to affect an approach to self improvement.
The manager of the team was able to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the group which enabled him to more effectively assign job responsibilities. He was also able to realign some of the day-to-day tasks of team members and allow them to be more effective in their jobs by using their innate behavioral strengths.
